· If a maul collapses a scrum is awarded to the attacking side or the side moving forward

· During the formation of a scrum the ref will call “Crouch, Touch, Pause and Engage”
· Crouch - Each team binds together 1 metre apart

· Pause – prepare to engage head and shoulders
· Engage - No charging allowed. Shoulders always above hips. Penalty - free pass
· Persistent infringers are to be replaced (by trained players only)
· Back lines to be 7 metres back behind the scrum
· Scrum must not be within 5 metres of a goal line

· A lineout is made up of 5 players between 2 & 7 metres of touchline with a scrum half and a thrower (probably the hooker) and their opposite numbers. Everyone else must be back 7 metres
· The throw-in is contested
· Ref calls “line out over” when ball leaves catchers hand, or when the catcher moves with the ball in his hands, or when a maul or ruck forms after the catcher moves
